It is my personal mission to utilize strengths that I posses to maximize my effectiveness as a professional social worker. These strengths include a strong sense of responsibility to adhere to my personal values such as honesty and integrity.
I believe, as a social worker, it is my duty to promote social justice for all people, and to do my best to improve the quality of life for anyone I can. I understand that every person sees the world in his or her own way. I respect and embrace the fact that each individual has different ideas about life and spirituality, and I strive to expand my awareness through interaction with a diverse range of people. This will also help me in my attempt to continue to develop in my ability to think critically.
It is my personal practice philosophy to treat all people with dignity and respect as outlined in the Code of Ethics. It is my belief that all people are worthy to be treated with dignity, and in all my relationships, both professional and personal, I strive to see everyone as equal.
I plan to continue to learn and grow to become a more effective and culturally competent social work professional. I will do this by continuing my education after graduating from UTC in a graduate social work program.
